Feng Shui in you bedroom

Do you wake up in the mornings to find that you are just not having as much rest as you used to? Do you feel that you seem to be doing everything right but there's something missing?

As most of us lead very busy lives, we tend to create bedrooms that are awake and busy. What we need to do is to make it more serene and relaxed. Today, let see how you could make use of feng shui to set things right.

Placement of the bed
~ don't position a bed directly in front of a door. Doing so puts you in the
way of bad chi coming through the door and it drains your energy.

~ place bed in the 'position of power' i.e. diagonally opposite the door so
that you can see the door from where you lie. If this is not possible,
reflect the door with a small mirror.

~ the head of the bed is best against a solid wall for 'support' and maintain
   energy levels.

Under the bed
~ as all objects have a quality of chi, check out the quality of chi under
   your bed.

~ clutter indicates an overly active mind. Boxes of old stuff indicate that
you are hanging on to 'old stuff' that may not serve you well. Get rid of
the clutter by throwing out what you don't need and store the rest
elsewhere. Keep your bedroom clear and clean.

Mirrors
~ said to represent the water element, a mirror conflicts with the internal
organs represented by the fire element.

~ reflecting directly at your bed is believed to cause you body aches, morning
fatigue and sometimes, illusions or nightmares as they produce yang and
   drains your chi.

~ it is also said that mirrors that reflect the bed usually cause marriage to
become rather complicated due to the presence or entry of a third party
   into the relationship.

Windows
~ avoid sleeping next to a window as it disturbs energies around you all
   night, creating discord.

~ always open your bedroom windows for at least 20 minutes once a day
to allow fresh chi from outside to come in, or you will be sleeping with
   stale chi every night.

~ darkened are best, particularly for women, as sleeping in a light room
   can contribute to hormone imbalance.

Bathroom
~ the bathroom is a yang space and should be closed off from the bedroom.

Beams
~ avoid beams in the room as they create miscommunication and cause
immense problems between a couple. Beams also affect your health
adversely, if they cross over your bed. The part of the body over which
   they are situated becomes weaker.

Tune out the TV
~ television has no place in your bedroom. Where a television dominates
a bedroom, romance and good solid restful sleep decline.

~ but if you absolutely must have one there, cover it with a plastic tablecloth
or place it in a cabinet so that you can shut the door each night before
   you turn in.

~ the bedroom is also not a place for exercise equipment, desk or computer
as they are all symbols of activity and wakefulness. If you must have them
   in your bedroom, cover them!
